Celebrating the launch of the Cleantech Friendship Group
Members of the European Parliament launched the first ever group of elected officials focused on championing the rise of cleantech, to help solve the climate and energy crises. The Cleantech Friendship Group is a grouping of MEPs cutting across political lines who commit to working together to promote ambitious climate, energy and innovation policies, support the development and deployment of innovative clean technologies, and strengthen the next generation of European industry and jobs.
The Cleantech Friendship Group aims to make cleantech a strategic priority in the public debate, create the policy conditions for clean technologies to deploy at scale across Europe, and act as a centre of excellence connecting European cleantech leaders with EU policymakers to chart a common path to EU climate and industrial leadership. The Cleantech Friendship Group is chaired by MEP Lídia Pereira (EPP) and MEP Mohammed Chahim (S&D).
